G FORCE makes your iPhone or iPod Touch a handy vehicle G-Force meter. A nice looking enhancement to the dash of your car, too.

Quantify the G-Force you experience in the vehicle (e.g. during acceleration, braking, drifting, cornering etc) or perform a quick dyno.

Its unique "Sound Alert feature" provides alert sound when the g-value exceeded a user selected limit.

FEATURES

(1) "Quick & Simple Calibration"
Simply press the start button and G FORCE takes only about 0.5 seconds to calibrate to your iPhones tilt angle.

(2) "Real Time Display"
Two "Linear Gauges" and two "Digital Displays" show the real time lateral (e.g. cornering) and longitudinal (acceleration, braking) G values.

(3) "Peak Hold"
Adjustable "Peak Hold Duration" helps you monitor peak values.

(4) "Graphical Peak Hold Indicators"
Distinctive graphical peak hold indicator makes observing peak values a quick glance.

(5) "Adjustable Audio Alert"
Provides alert sound when the G-Forces exceeded a user preset "threshold".

(6) "Adjustable Gauge Scale"
"log Scale" and "Linear Scale" helps you utilize the "Linear Gauges" for different conditions. e.g. Use log Scale in "mild" acceleration conditions or use "Linear Scale" in "aggressive" acceleration conditions.

(7) "Session Maximum Records"
Shows all the maximum G values in the current session.

(8) "Large Operation Buttons"
Facilitates quick and easy operation.

(9) "Theme Switch"
Switch between the Classic and Graphite Theme to suit your taste.

With its nice interface and unique features, you would like G FORCE even though you may have already got other g-meters like dynolicious or even a hardware equipment.

Pros and cons of G FORCE app for iPhone and iPad

G FORCE app good for

I dont know what the other reviewer is talking about, but it certainly DOES seem to work exactly as advertised. I would like to see a separate needle indicating Peak Hold and I would also like to see a greater range available on Acceleration so that it could be used to measure things like roller coasters and airplanes. But for $2.99, its a heck of a nifty little item.
I work in drivers training and collision reconstruction. This little app accurately does what a $3000 piece of equipment does with ALOT less hassle. Not only was it fun to use but it allows you to know the coefficient of friction of any surface on the spot! Worth the purchase! I do wish you could save or print.
Requst: graphical history? Not long, 10 seconds? Along with the other graphics, keeping the current the same size. Thanks 8)
Works as advertised. Simple to use. I would like to see 3D information added to future versions. Also, it would be nice to plot acceleration as a function of time for a minute or so at one-second intervals. Of course, one would like o read out a file containing that data.
Wonderful app that works as described. I hope to see some sort of graph in the future though!
I used the app to measure the G FORCE while driving my car. There were all under 0.5 G. I set my alarm to buzz whenever the measurement goes beyond 1 G. I suppose if I suddenly slammed on my brakes while speeding up to 75 mph it might trigger the alarm. I believe this app might be more useful at amusement parks especially roller coasters. I used it inside an elevator and it measured less than 0.2 G.

Some bad moments

Makes a sound when exceeding the set limits. Can show max value but no graphical representation of measured acceleration.
The app sounds good, but I shouldve paid attention to the age of the latest reviews. I paid for it, but it doesnt even load, let alone work--just a quick flash of the loading screen and it drops out.
